24/7 Dad Workshop from SB Fatherhood
Developed by parenting and fatherhood experts, SB Fatherhood's 24:7 Dad® program teaches men the characteristics they need to be good fathers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Used by a wide variety of organizations across the country, research shows that 24:7 Dad® successfully changes fathers’ attitudes, knowledge, and skills.
Boot Camp for New Dads from SB Fatherhood
This is a three-hour workshop covering fatherhood and the needs of new mothers and new babies. During the workshop, the Coach (facilitator) will make sure new Dads (Rookies) talk about what they are most concerned about as new dads and other important topics, such as: Supporting new moms, breastfeeding, feeding, changing a diaper, how to manage family and visitors, baby’s safety, and more.
Car Seat Safety Program Class and Low-Cost Car Seat Pick Up
San Bernardino County Department of Public Health is proud to offer monthly English and Spanish Car Seat Safety classes. The classes are free and open to parents and caretakers. Hosted in San Bernardino and taught by Certified Child Passenger Safety Technicians (CPST), the classes provide instruction on California buckle-up laws, how car seats and seat belts protect in a crash, proper seat belt use, correct installation of car seats, and more car seat safety tips! Participants of the Car Seat Safety classes are eligible to purchase a brand new low-cost car seat.
Dignity Health's Free Monthly Medical Clinics (2024)
Dignity Health - Community Hospital of San Bernardino has teamed up with the Lestonnac Free Clinic to host monthly medical clinics that provide complimentary services for diabetes, hypertension, and primary care for uninsured adults. FAITHS Throughcare Program for Families
The FAITHS Throughcare Program is here to support you and your family on the journey to a healthier life! They offer a range of no-cost services with no insurance required, including 1) Counseling: individual, family, and group therapy; 2) Classes: trauma recovery, anger management, parenting, etc; 3) Case Management: Connecting you to resources and organizations that empower justice-involved families.
Free Home Fire Safety Information and Smoke Alarm Installations
The American Red Cross Southern California Region is working to Sound the Alarm in local communities by partnering with fire departments and community partners to install free smoke alarms and provide residents with important fire safety education.
Healthy Families America: Maternal Health Home Visiting Program
El Sol Neighborhood Educational Center, in collaboration with Healthy Families America and San Bernardino County Department of Public Health CHVP, offers regular weekly home visits. The home-visitation program focuses on individuals who are pregnant or have a baby under 3 months old. The primary objective is to proactively prevent child neglect and abuse within these vulnerable populations.
Jurupa Valley Doulas Perinatal Support Program
Jurupa Valley Doulas champions marginalized communities, advocates for equitable care, and challenges biases in birthwork. Jurupa Valley Doulas hosts critical support groups, speaks at forums, and offers full-spectrum care with bilingual, telehealth, and in-person services. The expertise at Jurupa Valley Doulas combines generations of traditional knowledge with 20 years of collective nursing expertise, case management, lactation knowledge, peer support, advocacy, trauma-informed care, firsthand experience with housing insecurity, and a deep understanding of the impact of silenced voices.
Low Income First Time Mothers (LIFT) Program
The LIFT Program provides pregnant women prenatal education, support and empowerment to have the healthiest pregnancy possible. These free services are provided through family visits in your home by a Registered Nurse. During the visit the pregnant woman is given information on fetal and infant development. The Nurse will continue to visit you until your baby is six weeks old or longer, if there is a health risk. After that, the Registered Nurse or a Family Advocate will continue to support you and your infant by promoting a strong bond between the parent and child as well as teach you how to maximize your infant’s health and development.

San Bernardino County Medi-Cal Dental and Low-Cost Dental Clinics
Maintaining oral health during pregnancy is crucial. Hormonal changes can significantly impact oral health, increasing the risk of gum disease (periodontal disease). Smile SBC has curated a list of Medi-Cal Dental providers who specialize in treating pregnant patients.
Tangelo’s Food As Medicine Program (IEHP Members)
Healthy food is now a covered benefit for IEHP health plan members. For the first time in California’s healthcare history, eligible Medi-Cal patients can receive 12 weeks of free medically-tailored meals or healthy meal kits delivered directly to their homes. Eligibility: IEHP members with approval from Primary Care Physician, and discharged from a hospital with a medical condition. Black Infant Health (BIH) Program - San Bernardino County
Within a culturally affirming environment and honoring the unique history of African American women, the Black Infant Health (BIH) Program uses a group-based approach with complementary client-centered case management to help women develop life skills, learn strategies for reducing stress, and build social support. BIH participants participate in weekly group sessions, supported by one-to-one case management, designed to help access their own strengths and set health-promoting goals for themselves and their babies.
BrightLife Kids 1:1 Virtual Coaching Sessions
BrightLife Kids is a CalHOPE program that offers behavioral health coaching to all parents and caregiveers of kids ages 0–12 who live in California. Families are matched with a dedicated coach, so there’s no starting over each time. And families also have access to on-demand digital resources like articles and videos that can help between sessions.
Child Care Resource Center's Developmental Care Coordination Program
In collaboration with First 5 San Bernardino and Help Me Grow Inland Empire, the Developmental Care Coordination program strives to support parents and children, ages birth to five years old, with their child’s development and family needs. By providing developmental screenings and resources needed for family well-being. Accessing resources can be stressful or hard to find, this is why dedicated Care Coordinators are here to help.
Early Identification, Intervention Services (EIIS) for Infants and Young Children
EIIS is specifically for infants and young children who may display some type of developmental, behavioral concern or who are at risk for disabilities or special needs. The purpose of this program is to identify mild concerns in order to provide early intervention to the child "at risk". EIIS services are provided through a variety of activities, both clinical and non-clinical, to ensure that these children grow to their greatest potential.
Fatherhood: Men Empowering Men Program
A relationship with dad can change a child's life. Fathers play an important role in a child's healthy development. Join this FREE, 6 session course, to connect with other fathers as we learn how to raise strong black children together while exploring, uplifting, and celebrating the legacy of fatherhood.
Global Communities Healthy Start Enhanced Services
Global Communities Healthy Start Enhanced San Bernardino provides free Midwifery-led prenatal & childbirth education, International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) led new parent groups, doula services and mental health support throughout the San Bernardino County. Enrolled Participants may access these services as well as support with resource navigation to ensure a positive birth experience. Services are available in English and Spanish.
Hunger Relief Program IE
Every Wednesday, Music Changing Lives distributes approximately 30,000 lbs of fresh produce to children, families, individuals and seniors in an effort to combat hunger in our community. The distribution is held at the St. Paul Ame Church 1355 W. 21st Street, San Bernardino, CA 92411. Set-up begins at 6AM and distribution begins at 8AM while supplies last. Volunteers are welcome and appreciated each week.
Learn to Latch: A Comprehensive Breastfeeding Class for Expectant Parents
Join Community Hospital of San Bernardino for an informative and hands-on breastfeeding class designed for soon-to-be parents. Their expert lactation consultants will guide you through the ins and outs of breastfeeding, including proper latch techniques, common challenges, and tips for success. Mama's Harambee Postpartum Support Group
Join Sankofa Birthworkers Collective for their Hybrid Postpartum Support Group “Mama’s Harambee." This support group is online & in-person. Weekly groups meet on Wednesdays, 11:30am - 1:00pm. Every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month will be hosted in person, and very 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month will be held virtually. Led by black therapists, the weekly sessions will share tools and education to help navigate topics such as: Self-care, Mood Changes, Parenting, Maintaining Relationships, and Building Community.
Pamper My Baby Workshop for Parents
The Pamper My Baby program was developed to help parents navigate unchartered medical, social/emotional, physical, and cognitive developmental stages that their child should be achieving. It is an educational workshop to provide support and resources for healthy child development. On the spot access to speech therapist, behavioral therapist, parent advocacy and more, which promotes a child's social/emotional, physical and cognitive growth.
Strength in Tiny Steps (SITS): Black NICU Family Circle
Strength In Tiny Steps (SITS), is a free, peer-led support group designed by and for Black mothers who have experience with having babies in the NICU. This group is designed to build community with others who have shared experiences, while breaking down the feelings of isolation and helplessness that are the hallmark of this very vulnerable period in a mom’s life. This program is a project of Open Paths Counseling Center.
